Thingstätte dawn, 84
That door opens into an open-air amphitheater in the mountains of Heidelberg. Late 60's early 70's, when my address was sometimes: nowhere in particular, here, with a sleeping bag, smokes, and something to keep warm, was my favourite place. It was like being in a giant saucer and the night sky, big and promising. Little campfires around the terraces and acoustic music; when it was quiet you could hear whispers from the other end. How many times did I look around at my companions and think: wouldn't it be great if it was always like this... and mornings head back into town. Look back from this spot where I took this picture many years later, and not once did I think that what lay ahead was anything less than an adventure.
it's been a while...
I like remembering
